Meet Dr Rhett Morton

I am an experienced sub-specialist Gynaecological Oncologist and surgical Gynaecologist. I treat and care for patients with confirmed or suspected gynaecological cancers, pre-cancers and benign gynaecological conditions that require surgery. I am skilled in open surgery, vulval surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and robotic assisted surgery.

I consult from The Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower, and operate at The Wesley Hospital, and Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.

My training was undertaken in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. I completed further sub-specialty gynaecological oncology training at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Sydney; Mercy Hospital for Women, Melbourne; and the Mater and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals, Brisbane.

I consider it a privilege to return to practice and care for patients in my home state of Queensland. Having grown up in Far North Queensland, I am passionate about providing access to high quality sub-specialist services to regional communities.

I am dedicated to providing the highest level of care and offer contemporary, evidence based knowledge, experience and common sense. I prioritise exploring all available options with my patients and developing an individualised management plan in line with their values, priorities and goals of care. I strive for holistic patient centred care. I am an active member of the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer and its Quality Assurance Committee and work within a large multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
